Known for excelling in everything he does, Johnson was particularly hard on himself, feeling he should have been faster in the Radical SR1. While sim racing comes naturally to him, transitioning to a real race car proved more challenging. However, by applying his impressive analytical skills, Johnson showed solid progression, and with more seat time, he could outperform his initial results. Although he may be a long shot for a fourth-round pick, Johnson is on the verge of making a breakthrough. Fans should consider voting to give him a second shot in the Radical SR1 at the NOLA opener.

Off-Track Summary

An athlete all his life, Johnson is a true competitor, a trait that can be both helpful and limiting depending on the circumstances. Not as fast as he had anticipated, his competitive spirit sometimes hindered his progress, as he was overly critical of himself. Despite this, Johnson is a genuinely nice, humble, and fun person to be around, known for asking insightful questions. His potential is high, but it is primarily constrained by his own competitiveness, which can be a double-edged sword. He will take his place on the Prodigy Practice Squad and will strive to battle his way onto one of the current teams' rosters.

Bio

From Aurora, OH, the 25-year-old has been an athlete his entire life, earning varsity letters starting in my freshman year. I am currently a student at Kent State University, in my final year of my Bachelor of Radiologic Imaging Technology (B.R.I.T.) program. Prior to this, I completed three years of mechanical engineering at the University of Akron, where I served as the aero and composites lead for their Formula SAE (FSAE) team. I actively compete in soccer and am a member of Apex Racing Academy, regularly participating in top-level esports events almost every weekend. Recently, I won the Roush Performance Pro Series on iRacing and qualified 3rd fastest in the top split of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. I am extremely outgoing and open, but when it comes to racing, I can switch to become very analytical and focused to achieve better results.

Racing history

Racing rental karts since 2019: American Ekart national championship; racing LO206 for 10 weekends over 2 years; completed Skip Barber Racing School at Lime Rock Park; 2 years in FSAE for University of Akron
